Only in London for a few days, and would like to take in some culture, but also get the chance for some shopping and relaxing? Then Covent Garden is definitely the walk for you! Very few people can resist the allure of the area which is a heady mix of markets, theatres, churches, cafĂ©’s, bars and restaurants. All of these elements are brought together in the historic setting of Inigo Jones’ landmark Piazza designed in the 17th Century. This vibrant and exciting area of central London is unique in having not only a long and varied history, but also some of the best retail therapy in the capital!

We pass the following sites and attractions: The Bridge of Aspiration, The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden Piazza and Market, St Paul’s Church, Rules Restaurant, Lamb and Flag Public House, Seven Dials, Neals Yard.The walking distance is about 2KM, the full audio walk lasts for 30 minutes and usually takes us around hour when we do it.

Best Time to go: anytime, although if you would like to take a look inside the Royal Opera House, it is open to visitors between 10am and 3.30pm, Monday – Saturday. On Saturdays, Covent Garden Tube Station can be very busy and it can be turned into an ‘exit’ only. To leave the area, Leicester Square Station is only a two minute walk away on the same line.
